For what is good and best

"Fighting has been enjoined upon you while it is hateful to you. But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not"
Al Baqarah verse 216
I have been thinking for awhile
In the deepest depth of dilemma
Through series of unseen self-persecution
Lost in search for glimpses of favorable lights
Hoping to appear on the distant horizon
Be it in studies, sports, organizing, preaching
Seems as if I am not on top of my game in everything
Experience is the best teacher
I know deep down that I have learn a lot from what I have been through
What we want in life, maybe is not the best for us
Alhamdulillah for this enormous support and compassionate love my companions have laid on me
Two roads diverge apart
On the edge of what is good, and what is best, I made my choice
To live and forget.. To never hinge on this false hope
I shall wait for maybe a even better ordeal Allah has in store in me
Only for those who are patient and faithful
And those who are patient and faithful, is one I must be

A young man once came to his Shaykh to ask for his help in choosing his wife who would be his life-partner.
The shaykh said "What are the qualities you want in your wife?"
He replied, "She has to be good looking, tall, with lustrous hair and a beautiful scent. She should cook delicious food and talk sweetly. Someone when I look at her, she pleases me, and when I am away, she safeguards herself in my absence. She should nnot disobey me, and I shouldn't have to fear her evil. She must also take pride in religion and enjoy wisdom."
The man continued to mention all the good qualities in women that he would like to see in that one woman.
When the Shaykh thought he had heard to much, he said to the man, "My son, I know a person who fits the description."
He replied "Where?"
The shaykh said "In Paradise, with the permission of Allah"
As for this world, be tolerance, and all the joy shall be yours..

Bagaimana suatu hari nanti, andai aku mengikuti program-program jaulah bersama ikhwah, tiada di rumah 3-4hari, mengikuti program-program Qiamulail, bolehkah si dia mengerti?
Bagaimana andai pendapat kami berbeza, pendirian kami berbeza, jalan dakwah kami berbeza, bolehkah kami saling menyokong?
Andai setiap pagi aku bekerja, setiap malam aku menghabiskan masa bersama mad'u, usrah, bermusyawarah bersama teman-teman seperjuangan, bolehkah si dia menerima?

Multisystem Disorder Presentation

A comment from Dr Salleh after seeing my presentation video
"Assalammualaikum, asyraf, good presentation. it will be better if asyraf can show that u r in control of the presentation. meaning that asyraf should be at the computer not blocking the screen, asyraf can use a laser pointer and control slides from it. Path or mapping the presentation will help identifying few main points and a little pause within that point for the audience to follow. The slides are good and could be better with an advance tools in the powerpoint itself, such as links, videos, and so forth.. control on throwing out your voice with a higher tone for highlighting important points with pausing or repetition. make a good conclusion. it is suggested for asyraf to interact once in a while with audience if it is allowed, to keep track with them, anyhow, all the best, ayah proud of asyraf, keep up the good job, improve and be better where opportunities arises.."
Simply means that I need to be better. Alwayz room to improve.. :)

Hidup Dalam Dunia Yang Bersyukur
Labels: MOTIVATIONS, SELF-REFLECTION

Sehinggakan kasutnya dipenuhi darah.
Jadi kenapa perlu bersedih atas perkara-perkara kecil?
Semangat beransur pulih
Alhamdulillah X3 :)

dia bukan sempurna
Labels: SELF-REFLECTION
Sungguh aku tersentuh dengan cerita seorang sahabat. Kuat sungguh dia diuji. Kita sememangnya lemah. Akhirnya atas kesedihan, kita mencari sesuatu untuk dipautkan. Sehingga dia hanya gembira atas kegembiraan orang lain.
Makna kegembiraan itu luas. Ada yang gembira atas kerjaya yang baik. Atas pencapaian akademik yang baik. Atas keluarga yang bahagia. Atas pangkat, darjat jua harta. Atas pasangan yang penyayang. Sehingga tiba masanya kita tersedar. Segalanya tidak kekal. Kerana atas dunia kita tidak pernah memiliki apapun. Seseorang itu tidak akan gembira selamanya. Tiba masanya manusia akan diuji. Senyumannya tetap akan luntur. Semangatnya akan patah. Dia bukan sempurna.

We Are Muslim, Achievers We Are

We are steadfast in this road of dakwah. Encouraging people to do goodness and preventing people from doing harms on earth. We are hardworking “Da’i”. Giving our best with our own unique specialities. Contributing for our beloved ummah. And we, like any other muslim, faithfully hope for Allah blessings in return. So why do we need to have good grades?
Today’s campus life we see the one who seems strong spreading the words of Allah, the hadith of the prospect, are the one to be left behind in terms of academics. Not all of course. These people devote their life towrds Islam, and they are among the busiest among undergraduates. As to say their move Islam. Trying to touch the life of others that seems to still be lost without aims to achieve in life. And with no aim, there will be no motivations. And with no motivation, there will never be any effort to improve oneself.
My friends. Let remind ourselves and open our eyes about “tarbhiah”. We often hear about it, talk about it, claim to be in it. But have we truly understand its true meanings. Literally, tarbhiah means molding. And In many instance, we take “tarbhiah” as only to mold ourselves to improve on our understandings towards Islam, improves our way of reciting the Quran, and to share our knowledge with others around us. And in return, praying in would strengthen our belief for this religion and catalyze our deeds. True. But conceptually, the meaning of “tarbhiah” is way broader than any of us can imagine. To have a strong believing heart is “tarbhiah”. To have good knowledge about Islam is “tarbhiah”. Do be able to perform the best of deeds. To be excellant in academics. To be strong physically and good at sports. To be a great leader. To have a respectable personality. Until one day people with question how is it possible to achieve such level? And our answer will only be one. Because of our “tarbhiah”! To set the standards and take a leading role in everything. Of course, some may say that we are born with different talents. But can we be satisfied if we fail to at least try to give our best in everything?
Exams. Most will take it lightly. “By hook or crook” as long as we pass, insyaAllah everything will be okay. But our religion is complete. And academics is another battlefield for our dakwah. We pray as hard, work as hard. And may our achievement signifies the strength of our ummah. So I bring this message to all, Islam needs good achievers. And those good achievers, are you!!

Surah Ali 'Imran
P/S : All the best to all 3rd year for our practical exams and final exams. May Allah bless those who work hard.
